For me, photography isn't about equipment or skills, its about the simple act of clicking the shutter and preserving a moment in time. As a professional photographer, I hope to capture moments that mean something to you and your family and images that make you look and feel amazing!
As a small photography business, everything I do is based on my philosophy of providing excellent personal service, in order to create memories that your family will treasure for a lifetime.To do this, I create space where families can relax and be themselves- I never force a moment, or ask you to do anything you are uncomfortable with- rather I let the moment unfold naturally and capture it as it happens.
Specialising in pregnancy, babies, children and family shoots, my aim is to produce collection of work that is authentic and reflect the spirit and essence of not only your family as a whole, but each and every personality- from tiny newborn, to busy toddler, to doting grandparents.
Its always nerve-wracking meeting a photographer for the first time, so here some random things to help you get to know me:
*I am the proud mom of two beautiful savages, Katie and James. (both under 4) who provide daily inspiration and frustration in equal measures.
*I am married to the loveliest, most supportive man on earth-Michael- and I have an identical twin sister who lives in New Zealand but with whom I can communicate telepathically. (wishful thinking)
*I shoot Canon, and adore Apple products with a burning passion.
*I lived and worked as a garden designer in the UK for 8 years before heading back home to where my heart belongs, in Cape Town. I have a soft spot for small Karoo dorps, wide open spaces and big skies.
*I've been to Namibia countless times, and my idea of heaven is a deserted beach, pebbles, wind, rain and my camera. Nature inspires and humbles me.
*Olympia ciabatta and chocolate croissants are my cryptonite........
*I love the simplicity and timelessness of black and white images, but love colour too!
Creating beautiful portraits for families is what I absolutely love to do- it makes me happy each and every day.
